Mohlomi Principles

The Mohlomi Committee consists of leading governance experts and representatives of key stakeholders in corporate governance in Lesotho. It has three components namely the Secretariat, Task Force and Quality Assurance Committee. The Secretariat was tasked to conduct a research on the status of corporate governance in Lesotho and present the findings to the Task Force for drafting of the Code. It was also responsible for providing all necessary support to facilitate the operations of the committee including keeping proper records and preparations of meetings.

The Task Force was charged with the responsibility of drafting a Code based on the status of corporate governance in Lesotho and building on the international principles and practices of corporate governance. The Quality Assurance Committee on the other hand was responsible for testing the applicability of the draft code in order to provide independent analysis from people who were not involved in the drafting process.
